A Journey of Faith: Building Upon the Promise

From Sacrifice to Celebration: Our Shared Journey

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

If our morning session was about the mission, tonight is about the family. If the morning was about the work, tonight is about the Wine of the Holy Spirit and the joy of being together!

We’ve spent the day reflecting on Abraham, the man who packed up his entire life because he heard a Voice he couldn’t ignore. But tonight, I want us to look at a different side of Abraham’s story—the part where he finally sits by his tent, looks up at the stars, and realizes that God’s promise is actually coming true.

We often talk about how we’ve built BCBP Kalibo to be “better than we found it.” That’s a noble goal for any organization. But look at the person sitting to your left and your right.

The real “building” didn’t happen in the minutes of our meetings or the logistics of our breakfasts. It happened in the fellowship.

  • We found a group of strangers; we built a brotherhood.
  • We found business colleagues; we built prayer partners.
  • We found a local chapter; we built a spiritual home.

Like Abraham, we were “called out” of our busy, isolated lives as professionals. God promised us a “great nation,” and tonight, looking at this crowd, I see that nation. It is a nation of friends who have laughed together, cried together, and held each other up when the marketplace got tough.

The theme of our anniversary reminds us that God’s presence has empowered us to be crafted into His image. Usually, “crafting” sounds like a painful process—like a chisel hitting stone. But tonight, we see the result of that crafting. When God molds us into His image, He isn’t just making us “holy” in a stiff, formal sense. He is making us joyful. He is making us generous. He is making us a people who know how to celebrate because we know we are loved.

Abraham’s journey was long and dusty, but it led to a legacy that changed the world. Our 27-year journey in Kalibo has had its share of dust, but tonight, the dust has settled, and all we see is the Grace of God.

So, as we enjoy this fellowship, let’s not just celebrate 27 years of an organization. Let’s celebrate 27 years of transformation.

  • To the pioneers: Thank you for having the courage to leave “Ur.”
  • To the members: Thank you for continuing to build this house of faith.
  • To our guests: Welcome to the journey.

We are a little bit better than we were yesterday, and by God’s grace, we will be even more like Him tomorrow.

Happy 27th Anniversary, BCBP Kalibo! Let’s celebrate!
