Strategic Planning “Done and Dusted” for April 18 Medical Mission in Malay

MALAY, AKLAN — Groundwork has officially begun for a collaborative health initiative as the Alfonso Yuchengco (AY) Foundation, the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP), and the Saint Joseph the Worker Parish join forces for a major medical mission scheduled for April 18, 2026.

Supported by the Municipal Government of Malay, this joint venture aims to provide critical healthcare services to the local community. To ensure seamless execution, representatives from all partner organizations met yesterday for a preliminary ocular inspection and a high-level coordination meeting.

Multi-Sectoral Leadership Meeting

The planning session was highlighted by the arrival of Mr. Ralph Arjy V. Diestro of the AY Foundation, who conducted a site assessment to ensure the venue is equipped to handle the expected patient volume. Representing the Saint Joseph the Worker Parish were Father Adonis A. Romano, Parochial Vicar, and Ms. Elma Cahilig, President of the Parish Pastoral Council. Their involvement underscores the parish’s commitment to integrating spiritual care with social action.

BCBP Kalibo Chapter Head Gerome Quimpo officiated the meeting then focused on the logistical and manpower requirements he can bring to bear in support of the medical teams and the foundation’s outreach goals.

A Call for Unity and Service

The organizers are calling on the community for both spiritual and physical support. Members of the BCBP Kalibo and Malay are especially encouraged to uphold the project in prayer and to volunteer their time and resources on April 17 and 18 to assist with the final setup and the mission itself.

Through this partnership between the AY Foundation’s resources, the Parish’s community reach, and the BCBP’s professional volunteer base, the mission is poised to provide a significant health boost to the people of Malay.
