BCBP Kalibo CYP Celebrates One Year of Coffee Talks

Time truly flies when you’re building community and deepening conversations. The Christ’s Young Professionals (CYP) of BCBP Kalibo recently marked a meaningful milestone – one year of Coffee Talks, a monthly gathering that has become a safe and inspiring space for young professionals to connect, share, and grow in their journey of faith and service in the marketplace.

Held on July 12, 2025, at Kitty’s Kitchen, the celebration was filled with joyful energy and heartfelt fellowship. Five “Freshies” (first-time attendees) with returning associates, joined together for an evening of laughter, stories, and camaraderie. The event was an opportunity for the attendees to get to know one another through games and partying. The event was spearheaded by Lennin Claire Remetio, current Head of Coffee Talks for BCBP-CYP Kalibo.

The event was also graced by the presence of BCBP Past Chapter Head Bro. Jojo Lao, who shared heartfelt insights and warmly welcomed everyone to the celebration. His message served as a reminder of the importance of community, spiritual growth, and the continued support of the greater BCBP family in nurturing the next generation of marketplace leaders.

To add a special flair to the celebration, DJ Iggy Lao, also known as ARTQL8, was invited to share his musical talents. His lively set brought everyone to their feet, creating a joyful and unforgettable close to a year filled with growth, faith, and friendship.

What started as a simple idea – to spark meaningful conversations over coffee – has grown into a community rooted in Christ-centered values. Coffee Talks continues to serve as an avenue where young professionals can reflect, engage, and be reminded of God’s purpose in their daily lives.

Throughout this meaningful year, Coffee Talks has invited a lineup of speakers – experts, professionals, and community members – who shared not just their knowledge and expertise but also their personal stories and testimonies. These sessions have helped shape and inspire the young professionals of CYP. Among the highlights were:

  • Start Young! Key Strategies for Youngsters to Become Financially Smart by Bonnie Vee Dela Torre
  • Be Bold Be Real, Digital Branding 101: Crafting Online Identity by Megue Gellagani
  • Social Media Slip-Ups: Navigating Philippine Defamation and Cyber-Crime Laws by Atty. Jude Mangilog

As Coffee Talks marks its first year, the message was clear: This is just the beginning. With Christ at the center and a supportive community around them, the young professionals of BCBP Kalibo are ready for more conversations, more growth, and more impact in the years ahead.
