ADMIN’S NOTE:
The speech below was given by CH Jerome in the evening of May 31, 2025 on the occasion of the 26th BCBP Kalibo anniversary celebration and fellowship night.
Good evening, beloved guests and members of the BCBP Kalibo and Malay outreach!
What a joy it is to gather here today as we celebrate 26 years of God’s unwavering faithfulness to our community. This fellowship isn’t just about delicious food and fellowship; it’s a celebration of every life touched, every heart transformed, and every step taken in faith within the BCBP.
For a quarter of a century and more, we’ve been blessed with dedicated leaders who have tirelessly shepherded us to where we are now. Since I took over as your Chapter Head last year, my Governance Team, in particular, has poured their hearts into equipping us through various teachings, workshops, and specialized training. They’ve given us the tools, the knowledge, and the spiritual foundation to serve the Lord effectively. And for that, we must be immensely grateful.
But as we reflect on 26 years of growth and grace, it’s time for a gentle yet powerful shift in perspective. Just as Jesus handed the keys of the Kingdom to Saint Peter, entrusting him with a monumental responsibility, so too does He hand responsibility to each and every one of us in the BCBP. It’s no longer just about relying on our leaders to do what is right. It’s about recognizing the divine spark within each of us and understanding that we are all called to step out of our comfort zones and actively participate in furthering Christ’s mission here on earth, right here in BCBP Kalibo.
The empowerment you’ve received through our teachings isn’t just for your personal growth; it’s meant to ignite your service. It’s time to boldly apply what you’ve learned, to share your unique gifts, and to take ownership of our collective mission. Whether it is through a small act of kindness, leading a discussion, volunteering your time, or simply sharing your testimony, every contribution matters immensely.
Let’s embrace this challenge with courage and enthusiasm. Let’s work together, hand-in-hand, to not only maintain but to further improve BCBP Kalibo, making it an even stronger beacon of Christ’s love and light in our community. May we all rise to the occasion, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and truly become the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
Happy 26th Anniversary, BCBP Kalibo! Let’s continue to build God’s kingdom, together.
