FAQs
9.) I am older and not particularly adept with computers. I have Facebook though and an email address. Will I be able to use BK3?
We understand your concern about your age and computer skills. Many of our members have similar worries, but we can assure you that the BK3 system is designed to be user-friendly, even for those who aren’t very tech-savvy.
The registration process has been streamlined to be as simple and straightforward as possible. Some even claim registration on Facebook is more complicated. Nevertheless, your Unit and Action Group Leaders as well as the Governance Team will be happy to help you out. Don’t worry about feeling overwhelmed – we’ll make sure you feel comfortable with the system.
Remember, the BK3 database is crucial for keeping our community connected and informed. By registering, you’ll be able to access important information, stay up-to-date on events, and engage with fellow members. It’s a valuable tool that will benefit you, even if you consider yourself less technologically inclined.
10.) I am married and my spouse has an email address but I don’t. Can we share the same email address in BK3?
The BK3 system is designed to cater to each individual member, rather than treating couples or groups as a single unit. It is a personalized platform that provides you with your own unique QR code and tracks your individual Formation journey, which may not necessarily align with that of your spouse or other family members.
This personal approach is crucial for accurately capturing the progress and experiences of each member within the community. By having your own distinct BK3 profile, you can ensure that your Formation activities, attendance records, and other relevant information are properly documented and accessible to you.
To facilitate this level of individualization, we strongly recommend that each spouse or member obtain a separate email address that is used solely for their BK3 account. This will help maintain the integrity of the system and prevent any confusion or mixing of personal data between members, even within the same household.
We understand that this may require an extra step for some, but the benefits of having your own personalized BK3 profile far outweigh the minor inconvenience. It empowers you to fully engage with the Formation process, track your progress, and contribute to the overall growth and cohesion of our community.
11.) I am an AGL. Am I required to create an AGM event in BK3? How can I track the attendance of my members using BK3?
Yes, you are. In the BK3 system, Action Group Leaders (AGLs) are required to create their respective Action Group Meeting (AGM) events. This is an important feature that leverages the system’s integration with our member registration data.
Since all community members are already associated with their assigned Action Groups and have AGLs, the events created by each AGL will only be visible and accessible to their own Action Group members. This ensures that the event details, such as the date, time, and other relevant information, are properly tailored and communicated to the right audience.
One of the key benefits of this approach is that attendance at these AGM events can be conveniently tracked using the members’ unique QR codes. The built-in scanner functionality within BK3 allows AGLs to quickly and accurately record member participation, further strengthening the integrity of our community engagement data.
This level of individual tracking and event management capabilities is a core part of the BK3 system’s design. It empowers our AGLs to effectively coordinate and manage their Action Group activities, while also providing valuable insights into member involvement and participation patterns.
12.) I am a Ministry Head and I routinely create events under my jurisdiction in BK3. However, I still take old-school written attendance. Should I pro-actively begin taking membership attendance using their unique QR codes in BK3?
We understand that some members may have reservations about the ongoing transition to the BK3 digital platform. However, we strongly encourage Ministry Heads to proactively begin utilizing the BK3 system for attendance tracking, as the necessary scanning functionality appears to be working as intended.
The digital future is inevitable, and the best time to prepare for it is now. By embracing the BK3 system, Ministry Heads can take a proactive step towards modernizing our community’s operations and positioning ourselves for long-term success.
That said, we recognize that there may still be instances where traditional written attendance forms are necessary. This could be the case for members who are not yet registered in the BK3 system or those who, for various reasons, are unable to access their accounts at the time.
To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend that Ministry Heads continue using both the digital BK3 attendance tracking and the written forms in parallel, at least for the time being. This dual approach will allow us to gradually phase out the manual processes as more members become comfortable with and integrated into the BK3 platform.
The CDD is available to provide guidance, answer any questions, and assist Ministry Heads in navigating the BK3 attendance tracking functionality. We understand that change can be challenging, but we’re committed to working closely with you to ensure a seamless and successful transition.
Together, we can embrace the digital future and unlock the full benefits of the BK3 system, while also accommodating the needs of our diverse community members. Your proactive engagement in this process is greatly appreciated and will contribute to the long-term viability and efficiency of our operations.
