Preface:
The Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP) fosters a unique spiritual path for laypeople. This article explores the core principles within the acronym “BCBP SPIRIT,” outlining the characteristics that define a BCBP member’s approach to faith.

BCBP SPIRIT Explained:
1. Being Lay People (B): BCBP members are professionals and businesspeople integrated into society. They strive to be exemplary disciples within their daily lives, contributing to a world reflecting God’s kingdom. (Reference: Catechism of the Catholic Church #897)

2. Christ-Centered (C): Jesus Christ remains the central focus. All actions aim to glorify God and embody the teachings of Christ.

3. Being Liturgical (B): Active participation in the Church’s liturgical seasons and celebrations, particularly the Eucharist, nourishes the spiritual life.

4. Predominantly Creedal and Orthodox (P): Core beliefs align with established creeds (Apostles’ or Nicene) and emphasize adherence to Christian tradition while embracing openness to renewal within the orthodox framework.

5. Scriptural and Sacramental (S): The Bible serves as a guide and source of transformation. Encountering Christ occurs throughout the scripture and the seven sacraments.

6. Practice Ecumenical Convergence (P): BCBP fosters unity among Christians. Activities like “Breakfast” events aim to welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds, promoting a sense of community and shared goals. (Reference: Ecumenism)

7. Into Missionary Work (I): Witnessing through actions and words is a core calling. BCBP members actively evangelize in their surroundings, including the workplace, and participate in mission outreaches.

8. Radical Discipleship (R): A deep commitment to Christian values like love, justice, and service defines BCBP members. They actively contribute to building a more compassionate world.

9. Inherently Charismatic (I): The ongoing presence of the Holy Spirit empowers individuals and the community. Prayer, worship, and service are fueled by this spiritual dimension.

10. Truly Committed (T): BCBP fosters a strong sense of community through dedicated chapters. Members actively participate in events and support each other in all aspects of life.

Summary:
The BCBP SPIRIT encapsulates the core values that guide BCBP members in their spiritual journey. By integrating faith into their daily lives and actively contributing to the community, they strive to live as exemplary Christian role models.
